Couple Dead After Murder-Suicide
Dara Watson, a pretty, brunette 30 years old was engaged to Hedrick. Friends describe their relationship as "perfect". Her body was discovered in a shallow grave in a wooded area.
Dara Watson, a 30 year old accountant was reported missing on February 10th just hours before her burnt GMC Envoy was discovered in the Francis Marion National Forest in South Carolina. Her body was found in a shallow grave an unspecified distance from her vehicle. She had died of a gunshot wound to the head.
Friends discovered the body of her fiance, David Hedrick, 34, in the couple's home; police have said that he died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound just hours after his fiance was reported missing. They go on to say that Dara Watson was killed Feb. 6th or 7th, days before she was reported missing by her mother.
Text messages sent to both the employer and family members from Dara's cell phone assured them that she was fine. Investigators say that Hedrick very likely send the messages to quiet the growing concern.
Before committing suicide, Hedrick told Mount Pleasant police that their had argued that night and that Watson had left their home the next morning. Witnesses reported seeing Hedrick leaving the woods carrying a shovel.
Numerous searches were conducted in the woods as well as ponds nearby the couple's home. One of the searches of bodies of water yielded the missing woman's cell phone.
The pair described as "the perfect couple" travelled to many destinations around the world, posting numerous pictures of the happy, successful couple. Friends say that Hedrick was "mild-tempered and didn't like confrontation". They also added that he was "deeply in love with his fiance" Dara.
