Tot Mom Tells Of Alleged Abuse
The spokesman, Stephen McCausland, went on to say that some of the blood found in the home's basement "was visible to the naked eye, some wasn't." Crime scene investigators used Luminol to detect blood that normally would not be seen.
Police are now further into the accounts of the three adults in the home the evening of Ayla's disappearance. Jason DiPietro (Ayla's father), his girlfriend and Ayla's aunt were at the residence during the time that they allege someone broke into the small house and took the 20 month old Ayla.
"We feel they know more than they're telling us", McCausland said. "We don't think we got the full story".
Trist Reynolds, Ayla's mom reacted emotionally when told of the discovery of the blood. DiPietro had briefly given up custody to Ayla's father while she went to "get a little bit of help" for herself when she entered rehab.
Ayla went missing December 17 after her father put her to bed in her first floor bedroom. He notified policed just before 9 am the following morning to report her as missing.
