Winter Fun For Couples

Some of the best times as a couple will often be remembered as the times you broke out of the daily doldrums and did something uncharacteristic together. If you and your mate hunker down for a long cold winter by staying indoors and curling up for a movie or computer time, maybe it's time to explore the great activities in the winter to boost your relationship and re-kindle your romantic side.

Here are some of our top picks for some great couple's alone time in the snow.

1. Tubing on the snowy slope can be a great way for the adrenaline seeking adventurer who's had too much indoor time. It's a great alternative to skiing and snowboarding and sharing a tube down  the slope can a heart racing, good time. Don't forget to warm up with a couple of cups of cocoa together after.

2. Big snowfalls are a pain when you have to get around, but when you start to look at it from a child's point of view, there's nothing better. Remember those great snow days when you were a kid? Bundle up with your partner and build something like a snowman or lay in the snow and make a snow angel. Sounds too much like a kid's thing? Time to let loose the inner child and re-connect!  Enjoy each other's creativity and learn to enjoy each other's company in a totally non-pressure and fun-loving way.

4. Sledding or tobogganing can be an awesome outdoor activity. Bundle up and keep your loved one close. Ideally not a great opportunity to talk but it makes it up in the physical contact department.

5. Take a self-imposed Snow Day with your spouse or partner and play hooky from all the errands, chores and work commitments during the next snow storm. Have an indoor picnic, enjoy your fireplace with a couple of glasses of wine or pretend you're snowed in at a remote cabin with your partner. Put away all the electronics and the computers for the day and focus on only yourselves. Use the ambience that you create to make it an intimate and romantic experience.
